The growing reliance of businesses on digital technologies and services that are connected to the Internet exposes them to greater cyber security risks. About 92% of Canadian businesses reported using one or more digital technologies or services in 2017. Close to 80% of businesses had a website in 2017, and 61% of businesses had a social media account. The use of such technologies appears to have risen greatly since 2013 when 46% of businesses reported having a website and about 38% of such businesses integrated it with their social media accounts.
